The big day may have come and gone, but keep in touch as we’re always up to something new and exciting.
The mission of HDC is to inspire all horsemen and women to work with their horses on an elevated level and gain an unparalleled partnership….to help riders help their horses become more trusting partners and enthusiastic problem solvers that are invested in working with them.
ONE or TWO Day Clinic
Are you ready to take the relationship with your horse to the next level?
This course focuses on the
7Cs: Cognition, Communication, Connection, Conditioning, Confidence, Choice and Clicker™.
The day begins with donuts, coffee and meet and greet. We spend part of the morning discovering how we both, humans and horses, learn and process information. Inspired, we break into two small groups and begin working with our horses to increase communication, connection, and core conditioning using our new brain-centered horsemanship principles, 'the path of least resistance' techniques, clicker, and ground pole work.
After lunch, we dive into the 'thinking brain and survival brain' lesson. With that knowledge, we again join our equine partners and work on trust building exercises utilizing various obstacles. Participants will have two opportunities to work the obstacles, one in-hand and the other riding, if they so choose.
The day is created to be user and brain friendly. Meaning, it is designed to be an enjoyable, stress free day with your horse. Attendance is kept to a maximum of 10 riding participants and 10 auditors. Riders will be divided into groups of 5 for THREE personalized arena work sessions. Auditors are encouraged to join us in the arena. While not in the arena, participants will have the choice of....

2 Hour Minimum Consult
Are you getting what you want from your horse?
No matter if you are a recreational rider or competitor sometimes we are just 'stuck' at a point where we don't know where to go next. That's where I come in. I teach you how to look at things differently. Together we become the "student" of the horse. Using our understanding of how the human and horse brain works, learns, affects behavior, and processes information we find where the communication breaks down and close the gap of understanding.
In the consult you will learn:
These sessions are generally most effective if done at least twice. The first consultation lasts a minimum of 2 hours as we dive deep into the current relationship of horse and handler. The second session looks to see how the relationship has progressed since the last consult and subsequent advice is given.
1-2 Hour Lecture Format
Are you getting what you want from your horse?
No matter if you are a recreational rider, competitor, riding instructor, body worker, or equine education student, we all have one thing in common (besides the love of horses).....and that is the mind. As a "student" in the horse world, understanding how the human and horse brain works, learns, affects behavior, and processes information is imperative to success.
In this session you will learn:
This session is designed primarily for organizations that host guest speakers. The session can last 45 min. - 2 hour.
One Hour Session
Struggling to remember your patterns or just looking to make it 'easier' and less stressful? This interactive presentation has all the 'tricks' you'll need to make memorizing your patterns a breeze, no matter your age or learning style.

Nope! :) All you need is you, your horse, your everyday halter, and a lead that is at least 6 feet long.
No. Although the afternoon portion is designed to ride through the obstacles, many choose to stay on the ground and continue to work their horse in-hand.
Clickers and treat bags are easily found on Amazon. I do keep a few on hand, but no extra treats. As far as treats are concerned it is recommended to use timothy pellets or the like, mixed with cut up carrots, and/or SMALL flavorful treats or feed.
You will need a chair, clipboard, and if the clinic is held during a colder month, a lap blanket is nice. We provide pens and workbooks.
Yes. Although some hosts provide lunch for the participants, it's best to bring a lunch, plenty of water, and snacks to keep you energized throughout the day.
Yes. In all fairness to all guests, if you spouse/significant other is sitting in the arena partaking in the lecture and gathering information like everyone else, he/she needs to pay as an auditor.
